Standards And Quality Assurance
The production of steel pipes debeaded is made in accordance with DIN 2458, DIN EN 126 3 10210.2 and those with good manufacturing practice laid down in Regulation API. The carbon steel used is constituted by an iron-carbon alloy with the presence of other elements, such as chromium and nickel. The company Citizen Metal produces these items with a process of hot reduction and scarfing both external and internal. Compared to the cold working, the hot allows to obtain smoother surfaces. The scarfing, in fact, is nothing but the process of removing materials that aggregate along the weld lines both inside and outside of the tube. The excess is removed and the umbilical buys the same thickness as the rest of the tube.
ERW
The welding of pipes is carried out by induction, that ERW, or with submerged arc, called SAW, and either one or the other they allow to reach high quality standards. That ERW, for example, is based on the use of electrical resistors, without further supply of welding materials.
