Regardless whether the A213 TP 304 tube is welded or seamless, most are connected with circumferential welds to one another, fittings and flanges. Longitudinally welded tubes are produced in stable conditions (indoors, no wind, clean atmosphere) with automatic welding and excellent backing gas shielding. The residual stress level may also be higher than for welded or seamless tubes
A213 TP 304 Seamless Tubes are also circumferentially welded together with the same requirements, but the orbital welding conditions are normally more demanding due to larger wall thickness variations. A213 TP 304 Welded tubes and pipes are mostly cheaper to weld (time, filler metal, bevelling, etc.) and the chemical composition is typically optimised for seal welding which make them easier to weld.

What is ASTM A213 304 Stainless Steel Tube?
The ASTM A213 304 Stainless Steel Tube covers a specific range of sizes laid down by ANSI specifications. Any sizes not covered by these specifications are tube. ASTM A213 304 Stainless Steel Tube dimensions determined by ASME B36.19 covering the outside diameter and the Schedule wall thickness. Note that stainless wall thicknesses to ANSI B36.19 all have an ‘S’ suffix. Sizes without an ‘S’ suffix are to ANSI B36.10 which is intended for carbon steel pipes.

Seamless and straight-seam welded austenitic pipe intended for high temperature and general corrosive service. Filler metal not permitted during welding.
ASTM A358 TP 304 Pipe/ Tube :
Electric fusion welded austenitic pipe for corrosive and/or high temperature service. Typically only pipe up to 8 inch is produced to this specification. Addition of filler metal is permitted during welding. The main grades are ASTM A358 class 1, ASTM A358 gr 304, ASTM A358 grade 304, ASTM A358 CL1 EFW welded pipe
ASTM A790 TP 304 Pipe/ Tube :
Seamless and straight-seam welded ferritic/austenitic (duplex) pipe intended for general corrosive service, with a particular emphasis on resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Pipe, Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Tube, Duplex Steel UNS S3220 & Super Duplex Steel UNS S32750 Pipe are the most widely used grade in the duplex family of stainless steels
